MedicZero Rutgers is an organization of students interested in EM/EMS, which aims to educate members about evidence-based medicine and to impact the implementation of emergency care on the Rutgers campus and surrounding NJ communities. MedicZero Rutgers is the first affiliated chapter of MedicZero Inc.
To execute our goals, MedicZero Rutgers will complete several objectives throughout each year:
- We will hold public first aid classes and events on the Rutgers Campus and in the community, in which we will teach bystanders hands-only CPR, AED usage, bleeding control, and other basic first aid.
- We will also hold weekly student journal clubs to discuss evidence-based medicine and leading-edge treatment modalities in the ER and prehospital setting.
- We will administer surveys during classes and events, whose results will be used to create data-driven educational recommendations.
- We will host public presentations by guest EM/EMS healthcare providers.
If you are interested in any of the above, want to further explore your interests in emergency medicine, and/or are looking for a fun and engaging new community, feel free to reach out to us or drop by one of our meetings on Thursday nights at 9 PM!
