The Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital works globally to reduce injury-related pediatric death and disability. With innovative research at its core, CIRP works to continually improve scientific understanding of the epidemiology, biomechanics, prevention, acute treatment and rehabilitation of injuries. CIRP serves as a pioneer by translating cutting edge injury research into education, advocacy and advances in clinical care. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) designated the Center for Injury Research and Policy as an Injury Control Research Center in 2008.

Internship Description: CIRP’s Translational Research Intern would work as a part of the Translational Research team to create, distribute and evaluate health education materials based on CIRP’s research. This internship will provide individuals with the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a non-profit setting and a greater understanding of health communications. Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development of various health education materials related to pediatric injury prevention
  • Researching new insights and innovative solutions to health problems
  • Assisting team with various other projects
  • Learn how to apply behavioral theory in project design
  • Write social media posts and design graphics for social media

This job will be 100% remote. Intern will be expected to have their own computer and internet access. Intern will be expected to work 10-15 hours/week between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday. Intern must receive class credit for this internship. Students should consult with academic faculty to determine if this unpaid experience will earn credit.
