Welcome to the Technology and Engineering career community! The Technology and Engineering career community will assist you with industry resources, career advice, internship/job, and networking opportunities, and events to help you explore career options in these areas.

Technology is science or knowledge put into practical use to solve problems or invent useful tools. It involves the application of scientific devices, machines, and techniques for manufacturing and other production processes. Students interested in technology will often pursue degrees in computer science, information technology, and engineering.

Computer Science offers a solid foundation in software systems and theory with courses available in Artificial Intelligence, Internet Technologies, Databases, Graphics, and more.

Information Technology demands strong technical skills and insight into the social, economic, and organizational impacts of technology. The Information Technology program at Rutgers University has several pathways, including Cybersecurity and Information Assurance; Data Management, Analytics and Information Visualization; Web Design and Development; and Video Game Production.

There are many specific fields within engineering, and Rutgers University offers engineering majors in Aerospace, Applied Sciences, Biomedical, Chemical and Biochemical, Civil, Environmental, Electrical and Computer, Industrial and Systems, Materials Science, Mechanical and a Packaging Engineering program. Many of these disciplines offer specific areas of concentration within the major.
